Kayla Galvez of Brooklawn was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle crossing Route 130 on Dec. 29, 2023.

"Kayla continues to fight with her condition listed as 'stable but critical.' She and her family face a long and difficult road to recovery," the school wrote on Facebook on Saturday, Jan. 6.

The crash closed the busy route in Brooklawn, Daily Voice reported.

Brooklawn Borough Councilman Colin MacAdams started a GoFundMe campaign.

"As we can imagine, this tragedy has created many unexpected hardships and challenges for the family," wrote MacAdams, their former neighbor.

"Kayla is a phenomenal person from a wonderful family. Right now, Brooklawn and Gloucester, this family needs our help," he said.
